Richard Edward Carrigan, aged 64, passed
away on February 6, 2025, at Centennial
Hospital in Nashville. Born on September
30, 1960, Richard was a respected and
cherished member of his community.
Richard was the proud owner of R.E.
Carrigan Roofing in Madison, where his
dedication and hard work were well
known. His professional legacy includes
not only a successful business but also a
reputation for integrity and quality.
Outside of his professional life, Richard
had a passion for life's simpler pleasures.
He loved God and his family fiercely. His
hobbies included riding his Harley and
growing a fabulous beard, each of which
brought him great joy and a sense of
freedom.
Richard leaves behind his beloved wife of
49 years, Beverly Carrigan. He was a
devoted father to Connie, April (Mitchell
Copeland) Sheila, and Ricky Carrigan
(Amber) His joy was multiplied by his
grandchildren, Summer White, Brooklynn
White, Jorja Copeland, Michael Copeland,
and Bella Copeland. He was preceded in
death by his mother, Sheila Yvonne Green,
and is survived by his father, Richard
Dotson Carrigan. brother Michael Anthony
Carrigan, nephew Seth Carrigan and niece
Cassidy Carrigan.
Richard's life was one of vibrant
engagement with the things he loved most,
marked by a legacy of love, strength, and
perseverance that will be cherished by
those who knew him. He often quoted 2
Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in
Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
