Patricia Rue Obituary

"Cherishing Every Life with Heartfelt Service"

Patricia Rae (Owsley) Rue gained her wings on Saturday, June 13, 2026, after a long-fought battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family that she loved more than anything in this world.

Patricia was the second born child of the late Danny Ray and Emma Frances Owsley in Montgomery County on March 26, 1962.

Patricia dedicated 35 years of her life to the service of the students of Robertson County.  Years spent between Greenbrier Elementary, Greenbrier Middle School, White House Elementary and White House Heritage Middle-High School. During these years, she taught her students with love and compassion. She called them “Her Babies” and she would have done anything for them.

Teaching was not her only passion; she started the Girls Volleyball program at White House Heritage both Middle and High School. It was her goal in coaching that her girls would excel in academics and athletics and be role models for the rest of the school. Coach Owsley (Rue) expected no less from her teams.  She could also be found supporting many of the other athletic departments from gatekeeping at the football games, running the concession stands for both baseball and softball as well as keeping the books and clock for the basketball games.

In addition to advocating for her students she also advocated for the teachers of Robertson County. She served in different positions in the Robertson County Education Association. Following her parents’ footsteps when it came to rallying for the teachers of Robertson County. She was awarded the Susan B Anthony Award because of her work with girls’ volleyball as well as Distinguished Educator through Tennessee Education Association.

In 2021, Patricia retired from Teaching from White House Heritage. Retirement was not a word that Patricia knew the definition of and soon began her employment at the Robertson County Association of REALTORS as an Administrative Assistant. It was during this period that she found out she had cancer. Her Association Executive, Denice O’Neil, Member Service Staff, Sean Lowery, and the Officers and members of RCAR supported her journey. She was extremely grateful for their love and understanding.

Patricia stayed true to the Owsley Family Motto, “If you are going to be dumb, you got to be tough”. She took cancer head on to lengthen her time on earth for the ones she loved.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Danny Ray and Emma Frances Owsley of Greenbrier TN.
