ATCHISON, MURRELL VIRGINIA, 83, Old Hickory, June 29, 2009 born May 22, 1926 in Erin, TN. Preceded in death by parents, Barney and Vesta Gier, brother, Hugh Gier; grandchildren, Connie and Tanya Gower, Danny Atchison, Marcy (Atchison) McClain and Pamela Atchison. Mrs. Atchison is survived by her children, Dale Atchison, David G. (Brenda) Atchison, Gayle (Randy) Gower, grandchildren, Michelle Mertz, Jaime Kees, Amie Guthormson, Janet Demonbreun, David E. Atchison; nine great grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Francis) Gier. Mrs. Atchison is, also survived by lifelong friends, Carrie Ragsdale, Shine Thompson, Mary Gifford Cole and family friend and caregiver, Linda Jones. Mrs. Atchison retired from the State of TN after 35 plus years of service working in vital statistics, Highway Dept., Dept. of Education and the Dept. of Mental Health (MTMHI). Visitation with the family will be at Madison Funeral Home Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home with Bro. Daryl Demonbreun officiating with visitation until service time. Everlasting memorials may be made to Alive Hospice, an animal shelter, your church or favorite charity.
