Marilyn Dawn Jenkins, 84, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Davidson and Helen Stewart.


Known for her independence, determination, and strong spirit, Marilyn lived life on her own terms. She was admired for her honesty, conviction, and authenticity, and she believed in the importance of personal growth, perseverance, and lifelong learning.


After having three children, Marilyn fulfilled a longtime goal by attending nursing school and becoming a nurse. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Nashville in 1975 with a degree in nursing, reflecting her dedication to education and her determination to pursue her dreams.


Marilyn was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured her family. She is survived by her children, Denise Yvonne Zeender, Melissa Chantaey Williams, and Johnny Shane Jenkins; her grandchildren, Tommy and Jennifer, children of Denise; Matthew, Michal, Anna, Patricia, and Cole, children of Melissa; and Deimos, Justin and Austin children of Shane;and her great-grandchildren, Nero, Eli, Avery, Junie, and Lukas.


Marilyn took pride in the people her children became and the lives they built. She encouraged independence from an early age and helped instill the strength, resilience, and confidence that shaped their lives.


Marilyn found great joy in the companionship of her beloved cats, appreciated the beauty of the natural world, and cared deeply about protecting the environment. Nashville and the surrounding area held a special place in her heart, and she cherished the community and memories she made there.


She will be remembered for her zeal, quiet determination, intelligence, and love of life, her animals, and the natural world.
