Marilyn Cartmell Obituary

 

Marilyn Patricia Cartmell was born on August 31, 1956, in Davidson County to Thomas A. Cartmell, Sr. (deceased) and Mary E. Walker.  She departed this life on February 15, 2025.She received her primary education in the Davidson County School District.

Marilyn accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior early in life at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church and was a member at the time of her death. God blessed her to be a very talented seamstress, and she would design anything that came from her creative mind! She was an awesome cook, too! Her children and grandchildren were the highlight of her life. Her family and friends were very important to her especially her Mother.  She cared for them all deeply.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her father, Thomas A. Cartmell, Sr. and daughter Shubina Renee Cartmell.  She leaves to cherishher memories, two sons, Richard (Lady) Cartmell, Sr., and Brandon Martin; a devoted mother Mary E. Walker, siblings;Thomas (Pam) Cartmell, Jr., Sandra Walker, Brenda Walker, Carol Robertson, Janice (Marcus) Jordan and Francia (Robert) Anderson; Aunt Maggie Mason; grandsons, William (Quan)Oden, Jr., Richard (Kendall) Cartmell, Jr.; granddaughters, Aundrenetta (Antwan) Cartmell, Joy (Cody) Cauthen andDestine’ (Jeremy) Sterna; fourteen great-grandchildren; William Oden, III, William Cartmell, Marquise Cartmell, Dajuan Cartmell, Antionette Goldthreate, King Goldthreate, Joshua Cartmell, Jayliyah Oden and Miracle Oden, Danielle Wiggins,Kayden Sterna, Zaiden Cartmell, Alexandria Sterna, Kristian Sterna; devoted friends, Coma, Portia, Donna, Nikki, Jarrell and the Jenkins Street Family, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family,and friends.
