REECE, LULA MAE BYRD of Madison passed into Heaven on the evening of November 29, 2010. She was born in Citronelle, AL. May 10, 1924, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Fritz Byrd. Preceded in death by husband, William Webster (Paw Paw) Reece; brothers, Carl and Oliver. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by daughters, Judy (Stan) Carver, and Joy (Jim) Hinton. Mee Maw is survived by grandchildren, Amy (Jon) Smithson, Shane (Megan) Carver, Nic (Amanda) Carver; great-grandchildren, Jonah, Micah, Reece, Caroline, Maclaryn, Ellie Grace, including seven great grandchildren through Joy's marriage; brother, Clifford Byrd, nieces and cousins. Mrs. Reece loved her church dearly and served in various capacities at Neely's Bend Baptist Church for 54 years, a member of the choir, WMU and Sunday School teacher. Visitation will be at Madison Funeral Home Friday 3-8 p.m. Funeral services in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Tommy Ferguson and Bro. William Q. Williamson officiating. Interment at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Contributions may be made to Neely's Bend Baptist Church.
