Jefferson Ray Coker, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025 at the age of 79. He was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on January 1, 1946 to Arnold Ray Coker and Audry Louise Coker.
He retired from East Baton Rouge School Board. He was a man deeply devoted to his family, faith, and community, and his legacy of love and strength will live on in all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Coker; his daughter, Lori Muchukot and her husband John; and his sons, Daniel Coker and his wife Tonya, and Jason Coker and his wife Ashley. He was a proud grandfather to Justin and his wife Mindy, Brooklyn and her fiancé TJ, Sonny Ray, Loryn, Kali and her husband Conner, Kiera, Kaiden, Anna, Kamber, Kate, Jack, and Olive Kate. His joy only multiplied with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, Delveon, Gabriel, and Tre.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jefferson Ray Coker II.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Boulevard Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 261 East Old Hickory Blvd, Madison, TN 37115.
Jeff will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his kind heart, and the wisdom he generously shared. His presence was a steady anchor in the lives of those around him, and he will be dearly missed.
