Eddie Clemons Obituary

Eddie "Fast Eddie" Clemons, age 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025. A man of charisma, kindness, and faith, Eddie touched countless lives with his warm smile and outgoing spirit.

Born with an entrepreneurial drive, Eddie started his own clothing business while still in college, demonstrating his creativity and determination early on. He also had a passion for basketball and played during his youth, showing his competitive and team-oriented nature.

Eddie was a man who truly never met a stranger. He had the remarkable ability to connect with anyone, making friends wherever he went. His love for the Lord shone brightly in every aspect of his life, and he found immense joy in attending church every Sunday.

After a successful career, Eddie retired from Ford Motor Company and continued to stay active, working as a security guard at the Governor's Club, where he became a beloved presence. In his retirement, Eddie embraced his love for traveling, Tennessee Titans, exploring many states with his devoted wife, Dot, by his side. Married since 1969, Eddie and Dot built a life filled with love, laughter, and family. Together, they raised two sons and created a legacy of devotion that will carry on for generations.

Eddie had a deep appreciation for music, particularly old-school Motown hits, which often inspired him to dance with joy and energy. Dancing and music brought him and those around him pure happiness. Family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.

Known affectionately as "Fast Eddie," he was admired and adored by many for his sharp wit, boundless energy, and genuine heart. His memory will live on in the stories and laughter of those who knew and loved him.

Preceded in death by his parents, Otelia Whitehead and William Clemons Sr.; and sisters, Hazel, Blossie, Janice, Mary Clemons; brothers, William Jr., Thurman, Malcom, Robert, Mobley Ray Clemons.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memories a loving  wife, Dorothy “Dot” Clemons; two devoted sons, Elreo (Kimberly) Clemons, Kenyatta (Angela) Clemons; numerous grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him deeply. His legacy of faith, love, and unyielding positivity will forever remain in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Eddie’s name to a charity of your choice or by simply sharing a kind word with a stranger—just as he always did.
