Donald Davis

92, of Goodlettsville passed away May 9, 2011at Vanco Manor. Don was born in Nebraska City, NE and worked for Meadow Gold Ice Cream for 41 years, as did his father, Galen Davis, for 45 years. He grew up and started his career in Central City, Nebraska where he married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Johnston. Don attended Nebraska Wesleyan. He served in the US Army in the World War II European Theater following General Patton. Don was a fifty year member in the Masonic Lodge in Lincoln, NE. After Shirley passed away, Don married Margaret Ann Craft (Polly), an old family friend from Nebraska and were married for 35 years until she recently passed away. Don and Polly loved to travel, especially to Tunica, and were members of several dance groups which kept them young at heart. He is survived by his children, Steve and Linda Davis, Madison, TN, Doug and Mattie Davis, Ridgetop, TN, Sharon and Tom Richmond, Hendersonville, NC, Nancy and Scott Stokoe, Austin, TX, Doug and Pam Craft, Lincoln, NE, and Don and Cindy Craft, Lincoln, NE, along with seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Thurday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ron Lowery officiating.
