DARDEN, ALVADEAN, "Abby", born May 31, 1922, went to be with her Lord on February 27, 2011. Preceded in death by husband, Gilbert M. Darden. Survived by sons, David L. (Linda) Farrar, Bobby L. (Cindy) Farrar; daughter, Cathy F. (Steve) Abbott; grandsons, Adam, Lance (Annie), Tyler, Matthew, Christopher, granddaughters, Brooke, Holli, Dalyndi, great grandson, Easton; great granddaughter, Aryana. Known to friends and family as Abby and to some of us simply as "Nannie," Abby was a loving and caring woman. She enjoyed spending time with family and her service to Grace Baptist Church through various activities such as The Room at the Inn and nursery ministry. Those who have met Abby know that her generosity, selflessness, love and care will forever be with us long after this day has passed. We love you more than words can say. Visitation with the family will be at Madison Funeral Home Tuesday, 4-7 p.m. Funeral services at Grace Baptist Church Wednesday, 11 a.m. with visitation at 10 a.m. Dr. Fred Johnson and Pastor Andre' Dugger will officiate at Abby's Celebration of Life. Honorary pallbearers; deacons of Grace Baptist Church. Active pallbearers; grandsons. Interment at Nashville National Cemetery.
