Ms. Adeline Jane Morgan Fain, age 91, transitioned from this life on Sunday, May 11, 2025. She was born in Waverly, Humphreys County, TN on March 3, 1934, and passed away after a short illness at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Known to close family members as "Pat", she was a graduate of Waverly High School and later moved to Nashville where she married Clyde Larimore Fain. She worked for a time in a hospital, then for several years at Leggett & Platt from which she retired. She was a student of history and often could recall minute details from decades past. In 2002 she moved to the campus of Trevecca Nazarene University where she was socially active and lived for the past 23 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Zacharia Morgan and Nancy Minnie McFadden Morgan, her husband, Clyde Fain, her siblings, Carrie Violet, Mary Jo, Estelle, James William (Pete), Katherine (Madge), Alfred Smith, Arthur Earl, and Laura Beatrice. She is survived by her older sister, Evelyn, her nieces, Phillis Peppard and Charlotte Ostwalt, and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Adeline has been entrusted to the care of Madison Funeral Home and will be interred at Spring Hill Cemetery. May her soul rest in peace. Please remember her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
